Two separate calls for fire in Hamilton early Friday morning kept crews busy.

Over a dozen units were called to an apartment block in East Hamilton Friday morning, where a fire broke out around 2:30 a.m.

Hamilton police say they were asked to block off Albright Road near Quigley Road as fire crews worked to get the blaze under control.

Three people were treated on scene for smoke inhalation, but no other injuries have been reported.

Damages are estimated at around $100,000, and Albright Road has since reopened.

The Ontario Fire Marshall has reportedly not been called in, as the fire is believed to have potentially started due to smoking (Aaron McCormack/CHCH News).

Meanwhile in Central Hamilton, another fire reportedly spread from rubbish to a roof.

There are limited details available, but police say they were called to block off Lottridge Street between Clinton Street and Landsdowne Avenue around 3:45 a.m.

Any potential damages weren’t visible from the street, and no injuries have been reported.
