Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine approved by British regulators

British regulators have approved the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
This is the second vaccine authorized for use in the U.K.
Officials say the approval follows “rigorous clinical trials and a thorough analysis of the data by experts.”
AstraZeneca’s chief executive called it it was an important day for millions of people
in the U.K. who will get access to the new vaccine.
The AstraZeneca shot is expected to be relied on in many countries because of its low cost, availability and ease of use.
Meanwhile, the first doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine will be distributed to long-term care and retirement homes in the province on Wednesday.
