Ottawa has cancelled New Year’s Eve celebrations on Parliament Hill.

The city had planned a light show, entertainment and fireworks to marks the end of Canada 150 celebrations and ring in 2018, but the Federal government has cancelled those events due to the cold.

Ottawa is expecting temperatures of -28 Sunday night. Right now Ottawa is the coldest world capital.
