Ostanek closing up St Kitts music shop

Three time Grammy winner Walter Ostanek can still make an accordian sing.

The 78 year old was playing for the residents at the Royal Henley retirement home in St Catharines this afternoon. Ostanek isn’t giving up entertaining, but he is getting out of the retail music business.

Ostanek’s Music Centre has been a fixture in downtown St Catharines for half a century. But Ostanek has sold out to Long and McQuade, another music company. Ostanek has been packing up his Geneva Street store and will be retiring at the end of March.
