OPP respond to 911 ‘hang up call’, discover woman had fallen into creek

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is reminding residents to be careful around bodies of water after a woman fell into a creek at a conservation area.
OPP says police received an emergency 911 “hang up call” around 2:40 p.m. on Saturday.
Officers responded to the area of 2nd Concession Rd. in Norfolk County and discovered a woman had fallen into a creek.
Police say the woman was swept through a culvert and then managed to safely get out of the water uninjured.
OPP says with the recent amount of rain, residents are reminded to keep family and pets away from the edge of streams, rivers, ponds and lakes.
“It is important to supervise children and help them understand the dangers of playing near creeks and streams,” said OPP in a news release. “Anglers, canoeists, hikers, hunters and other recreational users need to be aware of the dangerous conditions that could pose a risk to personal safety.”
