OPP rescue baby accidentally locked in vehicle

A 14-month-old child has been reunited with their mother after being accidentally locked inside a vehicle in Waterford.
Ontario Provincial Police officers were contacted by the worried parent around 9:40 a.m. on Wednesday.
Officers quickly arrived on scene and with the assistance of OnStar, were able to open the vehicle and free the child.
The baby was not injured and the mother was swiftly reunited with the child.
Police say there were no safety concerns as a result of the incident.
“The OPP would like to thank everyone that assisted in bringing this incident to a successful conclusion. We were able to arrive and quickly deal with the situation and have the vehicle unlocked. The mother was extremely relieved and very thankful,” said Constable Ed Sanchuk, Norfolk County OPP.
