Provincial police say they found nothing in a planned search at a property on 1st Line in Six Nations of the Grand River territory as part of their investigation into Amber Ellis’ disappearance.

The search on Tuesday drew a large police presence to the location between Chiefswood and Seneca roads, although no property owners or tenants are considered persons of interest in the investigation, police say.

Ellis was reported missing by her mother on March 8, 2021. She was last seen near the end of February 2021 on Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation.

She is described as five-foot-nine, 120 pounds with a thin build, long dark hair and brown eyes.

OPP say she lived at an address in Hagersville before her disappearance. She also has ties to the Brantford, Cambridge, Hamilton and Norfolk County areas.

This isn’t the first property in Six Nations to be searched in connection with Ellis’ disappearance.

Officers also combed through an area on Sixth Line last June, but OPP wouldn’t say if officers discovered anything there, just that the investigation continues.

At this point, police haven’t shared any suspects in the case, but say they believe Ellis’ disappearance involved foul play.

Her mother, Donna, posted in a public Facebook group on the anniversary of her daughter’s disappearance, urging anyone with information to come forward, to help the family get some closure.

A $50,000 reward is being offered in hopes of finding Ellis.

It’s being offered by the Government of Ontario for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for Ellis’ disappearance.

Anyone with information that can assist investigators are encouraged to call the OPP Amber ELLIS tip line at 1-866-549-2090 or the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
