OPP investigates death of field worker struck by equipment

Ontario Provincial Police is investigating the death of a field worker in Norfolk County.

Emergency crews were called to an address on Concession 13 in Townsend around 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

Police learned a person was working in a ginseng field when a piece of equipment from a trailer struck them. The worker suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Ministry of Labour has been called in to investigate the incident.

Police say more information will be released when it becomes available.
