OPP investigates after United States burial flag, keepsake box stolen from home

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating after several items including a United States burial flag and wooden keepsake box were stolen in South Huron.
Police say sometime between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday, a thief or thieves broke into a home just north of Centralia and ransacked the property.
A brown stock open action Gevarm .22 calibre rifle, green camo coloured Ruger model rifle, silver and black onyx high school ring, chainsaw, leafblower, tablet, laptop were stolen. A burial flag and keepsake box from a deceased family member that served in the US Armed Forces were also taken from the home.
Police believe the total value of the stolen property is “in the thousands.”
