OPP investigates after suspected human remains found

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating after suspected human remains were found in Essex County.

Officers were called to 1100 Point Pelee Dr. around 12 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say an excavation crew working in the area made the grisly discovery.

The scene was secured for an investigation.

OPP is now working in conjunction with the Regional Coroners’ Office and a Forensic Anthropologist to investigate.

Police say they will provide more updates when they become available.
