OPP investigates after body of man, 2 dead cats found inside home

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating after the body of a man was discovered inside a home in Selkirk, Ont.
Officers were called to a home on Lakeshore Rd. after someone contacted police for help when they hadn’t heard from a family member.
Police went to the family member’s address and found the body of a 72-year-old man. They also located two dead cats inside the home.
OPP confirmed no one else was inside the house and noticed the interior was damaged by fire.
The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate.
The identity of the man is not being released at this time.
Anyone with information that could help police with the investigation is asked to contact OPP.
