OPP identify driver charged in Lincoln crash that killed 10-year-old boy

Ontario Provincial Police have identified the driver charged in a collision on the Queen Elizabeth Way in Lincoln last month that killed a 10-year-old boy.

Victoria Bakker, 31, of Mississauga has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.

The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. on March 30 in the eastbound lanes of the highway near Tufford Rd.

Investigators say the driver of a grey vehicle rear-ended a white vehicle as traffic came to a stop. The white vehicle then rear-ended another white vehicle in front of it.

The 10-year-old Beamsville boy in the first white vehicle was transported to a trauma centre, where he later died.

All other drivers and passengers of the two white vehicles were taken to local hospitals with minor injuries.

Bakker was not injured and remained at the scene.
