The Government of Ontario has launched $10 million dollar public awareness campaign to help stop the spread of COVID-19. This is at the direct request of Premier Doug Ford.

“I want to reassure the people of Ontario that we are all in this together,” said Ford. “Our government is planning for every possible scenario. We are working around the clock with other provinces and the federal government. And we are prepared to do whatever it takes.”

The Premier says the number one way we can combat the spread of this virus is to communicate directly with individuals, families and businesses.

In addition to the online search ads that have been advising the public since January, ads will begin running on radio, in daily, community and ethnic newspapers, on television and on digital media platforms.

Immediately, the campaign will be expanded to inform the public about the latest advice from our Medical Officer of Health, such as travel restrictions, avoiding large gatherings, tips for seniors, parents and caregivers, and how to recognize the symptoms of COVID-19.

As the situation evolves, the content and scale of the public awareness campaign will be updated to ensure we are effectively informing all Ontarians.
