Ontario’s gift card initiative is over

The province says the grocery card initiative to help families who lost food during the ice storm is now finished.

Last week, almost 2,800 families and individuals across southern ontario received grocery cards. More than 12,000 people received over one million dollars worth of cards in total.

Any remaining grocery cards will be given to local food banks to help communities impacted by December’s ice storm.
