Ontario to review safety guidelines at gyms as Hamilton SpinCo outbreak expands

The province says it is reviewing COVID-19 guidelines for gyms and spin studios in the wake of the SpinCo Hamilton outbreak.

Ontario’s associate chief medical officer of health Dr. Barbara Yaffe made the comment at the provincial government’s 1 p.m. daily briefing.

She says the facility followed all public health guidelines but there are still a large number of cases tied to the location.

This comes as Hamilton Public Health is now reporting 46 cases of COVID-19 in patrons and staff at the studio.

An additional 23 cases of secondary exposure have been identified.

SpinCo released a statement:
