Ontario to release fall economic statement Thursday

Ontario will provide an update Thursday about its finances and plans for recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The province’s finance minister Peter Bethlenfalvy will deliver the 2021 Ontario Economic Outlook and Fiscal Review in the legislature at Queen’s Park in Toronto at 1 p.m.
Bethlenfalvy says Ontario has made great progress in the fight against COVID-19 and the economic statement will unveil a plan to continue that fight.
It will also include plans for transit, highways, broadband, hospitals and long-term care.
The Ontario government’s recent announcement about a $15 minimum wage will also be in legislation as part of the statement.
The latest projection for the 2021-2022 deficit was $32.4 billion.
