Ontario to release 2020 budget on March 25

The provincial government is set to release its 2020 budget later this month.
Ontario’s finance minister Rod Phillips says it will be delivered on March 25.
Phillips says the budget will be a plan to create an opportunity for regions across the province to grow and will continue on the government’s plan to balance the budget by 2023.
“We’re restoring balance to the Province’s books within a reasonable timeframe, so we can continue making smart investments in frontline services like health care and education, while leaving more money in people’s pockets,” said Minister Phillips in a news release. “Our Plan to Build Ontario Together will continue to deliver on our commitments to the people of our province.”
It will be the Progressive Conservative government’s second budget.
Their first was released last year and was criticized after a steady stream of cuts followed in the weeks after the document was tabled.
The province says the budget will show how the government’s “balanced, prudent and deliberate” approach to managing finances has led to more investments for Ontarians while saving taxpayers money.
