Ontario reports 987 new COVID-19 cases, 16 deaths

Ontario is reporting 987 new cases of COVID-19 and 16 deaths.
Another 945 cases have been resolved.
Those numbers come as the province completed 28,567 tests.
Ontario is reporting 987 cases of #COVID19. Locally, there are 319 new cases in Toronto, 299 in Peel, 85 in York Region and 62 in Durham. There are 945 more resolved cases and nearly 28,600 tests completed.

Here’s how the numbers break down in our region:
Haldimand-Norfolk: 5 new cases, 26 active cases
Brant: 12 new cases, 66 active cases, 4 in hospital
Niagara: 20 new cases, 199 active cases, 3 in hospital
Hamilton: 65 new cases, 221 active cases, 6 in hospital
Halton: 49 new cases, 309 active cases, 10 in hospital
The provincial death toll is now 3,182 people.
There are 367 people in hospital with the virus. Of those, 75 are in intensive care, while 44 of those are on ventilators.

Another 116 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the province’s schools.
