Ontario reports 896 new COVID-19 cases, nine new deaths

Ontario is reporting 896 new cases of COVID-19 and nine new deaths.
These results come as the province completed just over 41,000 tests.
Cases remain high in Toronto, Peel, York and Ottawa, despite the fact that these regions have been under additional restrictions for a few weeks.
Ontario is reporting 896 cases of #COVID19. Locally, there are 314 new cases in Toronto, 173 in Peel, 115 in York Region and 92 in Ottawa. There are 796 more resolved cases and over 41,000 tests completed.

The COVID-19 death toll in the province is 3,127, with 2,004 of those reported in residents of long-term care homes.
According to Friday’s report, another 796 cases have been marked as resolved.
Overall, 85.6 per cent of COVID-19 cases in Ontario have been resolved.
There are 314 people hospitalized with the virus. Of those, 75 are in intensive care and 52 of those are on ventilators.
Here’s how the numbers break down in our region:
Haldimand-Norfolk: 1 new case, 33 active cases
Brant: 4 new cases, 37 active cases, 3 in hospital
Halton: 37 new cases, 247 active cases, 1 new death, 6 in hospital
Niagara: 25 new cases, 123 active cases, 2 new deaths, 0 in hospital
Hamilton: 15 new cases, 164 active cases, 3 in hospital
Six Nations: 18 active cases
Meanwhile, the province reported another 61 cases in Ontario schools.
