Ontario is reporting 511 new COVID-19 cases Monday and two new deaths related to the virus.

Due to a technical issue, Health Minister Christine Elliott says data on how many cases involve those who are not vaccinated, partially immunized and fully vaccinated will be delayed.

The data is based on 23,667 tests completed on the previous day.

The province says 23,884 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine were administered in the last 24-hour period for a total of more than 21.8 million.

Elliott says 86 per cent of Ontarians aged 12 and older have received one dose and 81 per cent have two doses.

There are 146 people who are currently in hospital due to COVID-19. Elliot says 159 patients are in intensive care with COVID-related critical illnesses and 104 are on ventilators.

Of the province’s 626 long-term care homes, at least 19 are in an outbreak including Macassa Lodge in Hamilton, Pine Villa Nursing Home in Stoney Creek, St. Joseph’s Villa in Dundas, the Meadows of Dorchester in Niagara Falls, R. H. Lawson Eventide Home in Niagara Falls and Hampton Terrace Care Centre in Burlington.

An active COVID-19 outbreak indicates that the home has at least one lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 (in resident or staff) and the local public health unit or the home has declared an outbreak.
