Ontario reports 510 new COVID-19 cases Friday

Ontario is reporting 510 new cases of COVID-19 Friday and four additional deaths.
The Ministry of Health says two of the deaths occurred more than two months ago.
The data is based on more than 23,500 tests completed on the previous day.
It is the second day in a row the province reported more than 500 new cases.
The province says 368 of the positive cases were in unvaccinated individuals, 57 were in partially vaccinated and 85 in fully vaccinated.
More than half of Friday’s cases are in people aged 20 to 39.
There are currently 111 patients in intensive care with COVID-related critical illness and 72 on ventilators.
The province says 48,682 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine were administered Thursday for a total of more than 20 million.
Of the province’s 626 long-term care homes, at least three are in an outbreak including West Park Health Centre in St. Catharines.
An active COVID-19 outbreak indicates that the home has at least one lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 (in resident or staff) and the local public health unit or the home has declared an outbreak.
