Ontario reports 486 new COVID-19 cases today

Ontario is reporting 486 new cases of COVID-19 today.
The province recorded 18 new deaths but says 16 of them were from two months ago and part of a data cleanup.
The data is based on more than 17,300 tests completed on the previous day with an approximate positivity rate of three per cent.
The province says 279 of the positive cases are in unvaccinated individuals, 41 are in partially vaccinated and 114 are fully vaccinated.
52 cases have unknown vaccination statuses.
There are currently 156 patients in intensive care with COVID-related critical illness and 85 on ventilators.
The province says 36,655 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine were administered Monday for a total of more than 20 million.
Among the eligible population, 75 per cent have two doses and 82 per cent has at least one.
