Ontario reports 483 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday

Ontario is reporting 483 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the provincial total to 5,759.

The recent number includes 26 new deaths since Wednesday.

More than 2,300 cases have been resolved, which is 40 per cent of Ontario’s total COVID-19 confirmed cases.

There are 632 patients with COVID-19 in hospital, with 264 of them in intensive care and 214 of those people on ventilators.

The province says 69 outbreaks have been reported in long-term care homes.

There have been 88,698 tests completed and 1,208 tests are currently under investigation.

Niagara Region is reporting 190 new cases, up slightly from Wednesday. Halton Region has 249 confirmed cases and, as of Wednesday, Hamilton had 198. The Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit says there are 119 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the region.
