Ontario reports 476 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday

Ontario is reporting 476 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday and 10 new deaths related to the virus.
Health Minister Christine Elliott says 335 of the cases are in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 141 are in fully vaccinated individuals.
The data is based on 39,460 tests completed on the previous day.
The province says 32,296 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine were administered in the last 24-hour period for a total of more than 21.9 million.
Elliott says 86.7 per cent of Ontarians aged 12 and older have received one dose and 81.7 per cent have two doses.
She says 280 people are currently in hospital due to COVID-19. Of those in hospital, 234 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 46 are fully vaccinated.
There are currently 156 patients in intensive care with COVID-related critical illnesses and 103 on ventilators.
Of the province’s 626 long-term care homes, at least 14 are in an outbreak including Macassa Lodge in Hamilton, Maple Park Lodge in Fort Erie, R. H. Lawson Eventide Home in Niagara Falls and Hampton Terrace Care Centre in Burlington.
An active COVID-19 outbreak indicates that the home has at least one lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 (in resident or staff) and the local public health unit or the home has declared an outbreak.
