Ontario reports 466 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday

Ontario is reporting 466 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday and 11 new deaths related to the virus.
Of the new cases reported today, 347 cases are in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 119 are in fully vaccinated individuals.
The data is based on 23,785 tests completed on the previous day.
The province says 20,454 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine were administered in the last 24-hour period for a total of more than 21.7 million.
Health Minister Christine Elliott says nearly 86 per cent of Ontarians aged 12 and older have received one dose and nearly 81 per cent have two doses.
Elliott says 315 people are currently in hospital due to COVID-19. She says of those in hospital, 278 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 37 are fully vaccinated.
There are currently 180 patients in intensive care with COVID-related critical illnesses and 127 on ventilators.
Of the province’s 626 long-term care homes, at least 17 are in an outbreak including Macassa Lodge in Hamilton, Pine Villa Nursing Home in Stoney Creek, St. Joseph’s Villa in Dundas, the Meadows of Dorchester in Niagara Falls, R. H. Lawson Eventide Home in Niagara Falls and Hampton Terrace Care Centre in Burlington.
An active COVID-19 outbreak indicates that the home has at least one lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 (in resident or staff) and the local public health unit or the home has declared an outbreak.
