Ontario reports 425 new COVID-19 cases, two new deaths

Ontario is reporting 425 new cases of COVID-19 and two new deaths.

Toronto, Peel and Ottawa make up three-quarters of the new cases, according to Minister of Health Christine Elliott.

 

The province completed over 31,000 tests.

According to data released Monday, 65 people are in hospital. Of those, 22 are in ICU and 12 of those are on ventilators.

Another 178 cases have been marked as resolved and the death toll now sits at 2,829.

There are 3,299 active cases of COVID-19 in Ontario.

 

Here’s how the numbers break down in our region:

Haldimand-Norfolk: 1 new case, 15 active cases

Brant: 2 new cases, 10 active cases

Niagara:  3 new cases, 41 active cases

Hamilton: 14 new cases, 59 active cases (new cases since Friday, as public health does not report on weekends)

Halton: 57 new cases, 124 active cases (new cases since Friday, as public health does not report on weekends)
