Ontario has announced 421 new cases of COVID-19 Monday, including 17 deaths.
The latest tally brings the provincial total to 7,470 cases, including 291 deaths and 3,357 resolved cases.
The province says 45 percent of patients are male and 55 per cent are female.
The province says 760 people are in hospital with 263 in the intensive care unit and of those patients, 203 are on ventilators to assist with breathing.
More than 100,000 tests have been conducted but 1,534 are still currently under investigation.
Last week, Premier Doug Ford raised concerns that not enough testing was being done. Ford said the number of tests was well below the province’s capacity of 13,000 a day.
As of Sunday, Niagara Region had 234 cases, Halton Region reported 280 and Hamilton had 242 cases.
Ford made an announcement today at 1 p.m. alongside Christine Elliott, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, and Rod Phillips, Minister of Finance.
