Ontario reports 387 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday

Ontario is reporting 387 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, with 61 new deaths.
It marks a 2.2 per cent increase in the number of cases since Wednesday.
The provincial total now sits at 18,310 cases, with nearly 70 per cent of those being resolved.
Currently, the the province has more than 1,000 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, 233 are in the ICU and 166 are on a ventilator.
The death toll in Ontario has reached 1,361 with nearly three-quarters of which were residents of long-term care facilities.
According to the Public Health Ontario Daily Epidemiological Summary, outbreaks have been declared at 218 long-term care homes, with the Ministry of Long-term care reporting 2,740 confirmed cases for residents and 1613 confirmed cases for staff.
Premier Ford announced yesterday that the recent COVID-19 case data is “encouraging” and that businesses should start taking steps to reopen when public health officials say it is safe.
