Ontario reports 331 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday

Ontario is reporting 331 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday and seven more deaths related to the virus.
Health Minister Christine Elliott says 195 of the infected people are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status. She says 136 of the cases are in fully vaccinated people.
The data is based on 20,148 tests completed on the previous day.
The province says 13,774 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine were administered in the last 24-hour period for a total of more than 22.5 million.
Elliott says 88.2 per cent of Ontarians aged 12 and older have received one dose and 84.6 per cent have two doses.
She says 230 people are currently in hospital due to COVID-19. Of those in hospital, 185 individuals are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 45 are fully vaccinated.
There are 136 patients in intensive care with COVID-related critical illnesses and 84 on ventilators.
At least three of the province’s 626 long-term care homes currently have a COVID-19 outbreak declared at the facility.
An active COVID-19 outbreak indicates that the home has at least one lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 (in resident or staff) and the local public health unit or the home has declared an outbreak.
