Ontario reports 293 new COVID-19 cases, three new deaths

Ontario is reporting 293 new cases of COVID-19 and three new deaths.
Half of the new cases reported Thursday are from Toronto and Peel, according to Minister of Health Christine Elliott.
Ontario is reporting 293 cases of #COVID19 as over 35,000 tests were completed. Locally, there are 85 new cases in Toronto with 63 in Peel and 39 in Ottawa. 70% of today’s new cases are in people under the age of 40.

A total of 35,134 tests were completed.
According to provincial numbers, an additional 179 cases of COVID-19 have been marked as resolved.
Ontario has reported 45,676 cases of the virus, with over 88 per cent resolved.
The death toll sits at 2,825, leaving 2,427 active cases of COVID-19.
The number of people hospitalized with the virus is 53, up from 44 reported the previous day.
Of those, 21 are in ICU and 12 of those are on ventilators.
