Ontario reports 2,662 COVID-19 cases, 87 deaths

Ontario reported 2,662 cases of COVID-19 and 87 deaths on Friday.
This is the fifth straight day fewer than 3,000 cases have been reported and comes as 71,750 tests were completed.
The reported positivity rate, which taken into account the date tests were administered, is 3.3 per cent.
Another 11,168 COVID-19 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday. As of 8 p.m., a total of 264,985 doses have been given, with 49,292 total vaccinations completed.
As of 8:00 p.m. yesterday, 264,985 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered.

There are 1,512 patients in hospital with COVID-19, down from the 1,647 reported a week ago. Of those, 383 are in ICU and 291 of them are on ventilators.
The death toll in the province is 5,701 people.
Another 3,375 cases have been marked as resolved.
