Ontario reports 1,958 COVID-19 cases, 43 deaths

Ontario reported 1,958 cases of COVID-19 and 43 deaths on Monday.

This comes the province completed 35,968 tests. The reported positivity rate, which takes into account the date of testing, is 5.5 per cent.

As of 8 p.m. Sunday, a total of 286,110 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered. Of those, 5,537 were given on Sunday.

Halton

  • 8,056 total cases — up 51 from Sunday
  • 7,434 resolved cases
  • 469 active cases
  • 153 deaths — up one from Sunday
  • 43 in hospital

Niagara

  • 7,351 total cases — up 64 from Sunday
  • 5,588 resolved cases
  • 1,487 active cases
  • 276 deaths — up 15 from Sunday
  • 3,390 vaccinations administered

Brant

  • 1,309 total cases — up five from Sunday
  • 1,255 resolved cases
  • 47 active cases
  • 7 deaths
  • 2,552 vaccinations administered
  • five in hospital

Haldimand Norfolk

  • 1,291 total cases
  • 1,106 resolved cases
  • 142 active cases
  • 38 deaths

Six Nations

  • 143 total cases
  • 127 resolved cases
  • 15 active cases
  • 1 death

The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 in the province is 1,398 with 397 in intensive care. Of those in ICU, 283 are on ventilators.

Another 2,448 cases have been marked as resolved.
