Ontario reports 1,913 COVID-19 cases, 46 deaths; daily cases likely under-reported in Toronto

Ontario reported 1,913 cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday but health officials say a technical issue means there is likely an under-reporting of daily cases.
The number comes as the province completed 34,531 tests. The reported positivity rate, which takes into consideration the date tests were performed, is 6.8 per cent.
Another 46 deaths were reported bringing the death toll to 5,479 people.
Ontario is reporting 1,913 cases of #COVID19 and over 34,500 tests completed. Locally, there are 550 new cases in Toronto, 346 in Peel and 235 in York Region.
Due to a technical issue at Toronto Public Health, there is likely an underreporting of cases today.

The province says 14,346 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered on Monday by 8 p.m. In total, 224,134 doses have been given in Ontario with 25,609 vaccinations completed.
There are 1,626 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, with 400 of them in intensive care units. Of those in ICU, 292 are on ventilators.
Another 2,873 cases have been marked as resolved.
