Ontario reports 1,616 COVID-19 cases and 17 deaths

Ontario reported 1,616 cases of COVID-19 and 17 deaths on Tuesday.
It’s the lowest daily case count in nearly two months. The reported positivity rate is 7.6 per cent, with the province completing 22,915 tests in the last day.
Ontario is reporting 1,616 cases of #COVID19 and over 22,900 tests completed. Locally, there are 472 new cases in Toronto, 360 in Peel, 116 in York Region, 114 in Hamilton and 102 in Durham.

- 19,525 total cases — up 107 from Monday

Niagara
- 15,290 total cases — up 48 from Monday
- 13,604 resolved cases
- 1,285 active cases
- 401 deaths — up one from Monday
- 52 in hospital
Brant
- 3082 total cases — up 11 from Monday
- 2,930 resolved cases
- 132 active cases
- 20 deaths
- 7 in hospital
Haldimand-Norfolk
- 2,556 total cases — up three from Monday
- 2,380 resolved cases
- 130 active cases
- 41 deaths
It comes as provincial vaccine booking opens up to all adults.

Ontario administered 109,032 vaccine doses on Monday. There are 442,102 people in the province who have received both required vaccine doses.
There are 1,484 people in hospital with COVID-19 across the province. There are 764 patients in intensive care with 559 of them on ventilators.
The death toll is 8,506 people.
Another 2,502 cases have been marked as resolved.
