Ontario reports 1,575 new COVID-19 cases, 18 deaths

Ontario is reporting 1,575 new cases of COVID-19 and 18 deaths.
This new daily record, the fourth record set since Sunday, comes as the province completed 39,559 tests.
Ontario is reporting 1,575 cases of #COVID19. Locally, there are 472 new cases in Toronto, 448 in Peel, 155 in York Region and 91 in Ottawa. There are 917 more resolved cases and nearly 39,600 tests completed.

Here’s how the numbers break down in our region:
Haldimand-Norfolk: 2 new cases, 23 active cases
Brant: 5 new cases, 67 active cases, 1 in hospital
Niagara: 20 new, 268 active, 4 in hospital
Six Nations: 2 new cases, 2 active cases
Halton: 49 new cases, 485 active cases, 16 in hospital
Hamilton: 33 new cases, 374 active cases, 1 death, 20 in hospital
There are now 59 primary cases of COVID-19 connected to Chartwell Willowgrove long-term care home.
It’s one of 20 outbreaks declared by Hamilton Public Health.
3,293 people have died of the virus, including 2,099 long-term care residents.
Of the 18 deaths reported on Thursday, 12 were in people living in long-term care homes.
There are 431 people in hospital with COVID-19 in Ontario. The number of people in ICU is up to 98, with 62 of those on ventilators.
Another 917 cases have been marked as resolved.
The province says overall, 83.8 per cent of COVID-19 cases are resolved.
There were 103 cases reported in the province’s schools.
