Ontario reports 1,396 new COVID-19 cases, 19 deaths

Ontario is reporting 1,396 new cases of COVID-19 and 19 deaths.
This is a decrease from the record 1,575 cases reported on Thursday and comes as 40,509 tests were completed.
Ontario is reporting 1,396 cases of #COVID19. Locally, there are 440 new cases in Toronto, 440 in Peel and 155 in York Region. There are 1,018 more resolved cases and over 40,500 tests completed.

There are 44,507 tests under investigation.
Here’s how the numbers break down in our region:
Haldimand-Norfolk: 2 new cases, 22 active cases
Brant: 8 new cases, 72 active cases, 1 in hospital
Niagara: 12 new cases, 247 active cases, 4 in hospital
Hamilton: 46 new cases, 402 active cases, 1 death, 19 in hospital
Halton: 57 new cases, 486 active cases, 1 death, 16 in hospital
A total of 3,312 people have died from the virus, including 2,109 people in long-term care.
Another 1,018 cases have been marked as resolved. Overall, 83.6 per cent of Ontario’s COVID-19 cases are resolved.
There are 452 people in hospital across the province, including 106 patients in intensive care. Of those, 67 are on ventilators.
Another 116 cases have been reported in the province’s schools.
