Ontario reports 1,249 new COVID-19 cases, 12 deaths

Ontario is reporting 1,249 new cases of COVID-19 and 12 deaths.
The new cases come as the province completed 26,468 tests.
The tally includes 40 unreported cases from Saturday from Toronto Public Health.
Ontario is reporting 1,249 cases of #COVID19. Locally, there are 569 new cases in Toronto, 256 in Peel and 94 in York Region. There are 1,135 more resolved cases and nearly 26,500 tests completed.

Here’s how the numbers break down in our region:
Haldimand-Norfolk: 1 new case, 34 active cases
Brant: 11 new cases, 60 active cases
Niagara: 26 new cases, 205 active cases, 6 in hospital
Hamilton: 25 new cases, 336 active cases, 3 deaths, 15 in hospital
Halton: 59 new cases, 566 active cases, 1 death, 19 in hospital
Another 1,135 cases were marked as resolved.
There are 529 people in hospital with COVID-19 in Ontario., that’s up from the 500 patients reported on Monday.
127 are in intensive care and 75 of those are on ventilators.
In total, 3,383 people have died of the virus, including 2,148 people in long-term care.
There were 133 cases of COVID-19 reported in the province’s schools on Tuesday.
