Ontario reports 1,150 COVID-19 cases, 47 deaths

Ontario reported 1,150 cases of COVID-19 and 47 deaths on Friday.
This comes as the province completed 65,372 tests. The reported positivity rate, which takes into account the date tests were taken, is 2.1 per cent.
Another 16,967 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday. As of 8 p.m. on Thursday, there are 217,715 people who have received both required vaccine doses and are fully vaccinated.
Ontario is reporting 1,150 cases of #COVID19 and nearly 65,400 tests completed. Locally, there are 376 new cases in Toronto, 264 in Peel and 108 in York Region.
As of 8:00 p.m. yesterday, 518,834 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered.

Another 1,255 cases have been marked as resolved.

An outbreak has been declared at Grandview Lodge in Haldimand County after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19 as part of regular testing. Officials say resident testing is underway.

There are 385 cases of the B.1.1.7 lineage of the virus, first reported in the U.K.
There are nine cases of the B.1.351 strain, first reported in South Africa and one case of the P.1 strain first reported in Brazil.
The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 has dropped from 758 to 689. There are 269 patients in intensive care, with 190 of them on ventilators.
The death toll is 6,820 people with about 56 per cent of those deaths reported in residents of long-term care homes.
