Ontario reports 1,050 new COVID-19 cases, 14 deaths

Ontario is reporting 1,050 new cases of COVID-19 and 14 deaths.
It’s a new record for daily cases and comes as the province completed just 25,279 tests.
Halton is now in the top three areas in Ontario with the highest number of new cases, behind Toronto and Peel, according to provincial numbers.
Ontario is reporting 1,050 cases of #COVID19. Locally, there are 408 new cases in Toronto, 212 in Peel, 86 in Halton, 76 in York Region and 57 in Durham. There are 837 more resolved cases and nearly 25,300 tests completed.

Here’s how the numbers break down in our region:
Haldimand-Norfolk: 1 new case, 26 active cases
Brant: 9 new cases, 62 active cases, 4 in hospital
Niagara: 38 new cases, 196 active cases, 4 in hospital
The death toll is now 3,166 with eight of the deaths reported Tuesday reported in residents of long-term care homes.
An additional 837 cases have been marked as resolved.
There are 357 people in hospital with COVID-19. 73 of those patients are in the ICU with 47 of those on ventilators.
Meanwhile, 134 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the province’s schools.
