Ontario reporting 704 new COVID-19 cases, four new deaths

Ontario is reporting 704 new cases of COVID-19 and four new deaths.

Another 607 cases have been marked as resolved, according to data released by the province on Monday.

Toronto, Ottawa, York Region and Peel Region continue to lead in new cases.

This comes as stricter public health measures came into effect in York Region on Monday.

Of the 65,075 reported cases of COVID-19, 86 per cent are marked as resolved.

The total number of deaths is 3,050.

There are 6,047 active cases of COVID-19 in the province.

Here’s how the numbers break down in our region:

Haldimand-Norfolk: 2 new cases, 11 active cases

Brant: 4 new cases, 12 active cases

Six Nations: 3 new cases, 29 active cases

Niagara: 15 new cases, 66 active cases, 1 new death, 4 in hospital

Halton: 38 new cases, 221 active cases, 5 in hospital

Hamilton: 19 new cases, 155 active cases, 7 in hospital

Meanwhile, Hamilton Public Health has released a new graphic, breaking down how COVID-19 outbreak at SpinCo grew to 74 cases.

The province completed 31,864 tests. The number of backlogged tests is down to 16,303.

Ontario is reporting 252 patients in hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 69 are in ICU and 40 are on ventilators.

However, the province says about 30 hospitals did not submit data from the weekend.
