Ontario reports 538 new COVID-19 cases, three new deaths

Ontario is reporting 538 new cases of COVID-19 and three new deaths.
According to numbers released Thursday, the province completed 39,646 tests the previous day with another 82,473 still under investigation.
Another 515 cases have been marked as resolved and the death toll now sits at 2,851.
There are 4,975 active cases of COVID-19 in the province.
Ontario is reporting 538 cases of #COVID19 as more than 39,600 tests were completed. Locally, there are 229 new cases in Toronto with 101 in Peel, 66 in Ottawa and 43 in York Region. 60% of today’s cases are in people under the age of 40. There are 515 more resolved cases today.

Hospitalizations are up from 150 to 162. Of those, 36 patients are in intensive care with 17 of those on a ventilator.
Here’s how the numbers break down in our region:
Haldimand-Norfolk: 0 new cases, 4 active cases
Brant: 3 new case, 17 active cases
Niagara: 9 new cases, 99 active cases
Halton: 14 new cases, 159 active cases
Hamilton: 6 new cases, 100 active cases
The province reported another 64 cases of COVID-19 in schools for a total of 447 cases.
