Ontario Premier Doug Ford speaks to media after landslide victory

After a sweeping victory at the polls last night re-elected premier Doug Ford took questions from the media today.
The 83-seat win comes following the lowest voter turnout in Ontario’s history and resulted in the departures of other leaders.
The Ontario PCs now hold even more seats than in the previous election.
Elections Ontario say just 43 per cent cast a ballot which is down from 57 per cent in 2018.
NDP leader Andrea Horwath was re-elected in Hamilton Centre but stepped down as the party leader in her emotional final speech last night. “It’s time for me to pass the torch, pass the baton, and hand over the leadership of the NDP,” Horwath said.
Liberal Leader Steven Del Duca did not win his riding of Vaughan-Woodbridge and is also stepping down as party leader. Del Duca has asked the liberal party president to begin a leadership search.
Sixteen new members join the PC caucus but Ford hasn’t said when a cabinet will be named.
