Provincial Election Day 2: Party leaders focus on GTA suburbs

On day two of the provincial election campaign, the main party leaders were focused on the vote-rich GTA suburbs.
PC Leader Doug Ford visited a car dealership in Pickering to promote two of his government’s previously announced decisions; getting rid of license plate sticker fees and scraping tolls on two Durham region highways, the 412 and 418.
NDP Leader Andrea Horwath was in Scarborough promising free or low-cost dental care for all low and middle-income families.
“We can make sure all families are able to access the dental care they need.”
Horwath says her dental plan would speed up coverage promised by the feds in the latest budget. She says the plan will cost $680 million in the first year, but once the federal money kicks in it will go down to $380 million.
Liberal Leader Stephen Del Duca began his day in Vaughan making a billion-dollar promise to limit school class size to twenty students, to hire ten-thousand teachers to make that possible, and to scrap mandatory online learning.
Green Party Leader Mike Schreiner was in Waterloo where he committed to building $160,000 affordable rental homes calling housing affordability the number one issue, before participating in a debate in Guelph.
