Ontario nurses plan to hold a rally outside of Hamilton General Hospital today

The Ontario Nurses Association plan to protest after recent decision by Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) to cut registered nurses, and replace scrub nurses in operating rooms.

ONA called the decision “dangerous” in a media release.

“Any nursing cuts from operating rooms put patient safety at risk – period,” said ONA Interim Provincial President Bernie Robinson.

The protest is scheduled to take place outside of Hamilton General Hospital today at 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Robinson also added that the decision to cut registered nurses must be stopped and the people of Hamilton and surrounding areas can make a difference.
