Ontario Liberal Leader announces Milton GO corridor investments if elected in June 2022

Ontario Liberal leader Steven Del Duca announced Monday that Ontario Liberals will match federal contributions to deliver two-way, all-day, 15-minute service on the Milton GO corridor if elected in June 2022.
“This is absolutely phenomenal news for the hardworking families in Milton, Burlington and across Mississauga,” said Del Duca during a press conference. “It will improve the quality of life and it will help us in our collective fight against the climate crisis.”
Del Duca says for the province to come out of the COVID-19 pandemic successfully, an economic recovery that is underpinned by people and goods being able to move across Ontario’s most densely populated areas is needed.
The Liberal leader also says Doug Ford and his government are “obsessed with a highway project that makes no sense for this region”.
“Independent studies show [the project on Highway 413] will not improve gridlock,” said Del Duca. “[It will] cost $10 billion and take at least ten years to build…[It is] not a real solution for the hard working families of Milton and Mississauga.“
Del Duca concluded by saying that the plan would create a post-pandemic Ontario that doesn’t just work for the “well-connected few” but also works for everyone.
