Ontario kids aged 5-11 can get COVID-19 booster shot starting Thursday

Children aged five to 11 in Ontario will be eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster vaccine starting Thursday.
Ontario’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Kieran Moore made the announcement in a news conference today.
Health Canada said earlier this month it had approved Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine as a booster for children aged five to 11, to be given at least six months after their second dose.
Vaccines for that age group were first approved last November.
Parents and caregivers of children aged five to 11 will be able to book an appointment through the COVID-19 vaccination portal, by calling the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1 833 943 3900, or participating health care providers and pharmacies.
