There are 784 new cases of COVID-19 in Ontario today along with six new deaths linked to the virus. The province notes two of the deaths occurred more than a month ago and have been added to the overall tally after a data cleanup.

Health Minister Christine Elliott says 602 of the most recently reported infections are among people who are either unvaccinated against COVID-19 or whose immunization status is unknown.

She says 182 of the latest infections are among people who are fully inoculated. Provincial data shows 289 people are currently in hospital due to COVID-19, with 184 in intensive care and 107 on a ventilator. The province says those numbers are expected to rise in the coming days, as many hospitals don’t report data on weekends.
