Three local high school teams were in Houston over the weekend, squaring off against some of the brightest minds in the world in a robotics competition.

Teams were given the rules of the game in January and had to use that criteria to build the robot and complete the assigned tasks such as throwing balls and climbing.

Teams from Bishop Ryan Catholic Secondary School in Hamilton, Orchard Park Secondary School in Stoney Creek and Governor Simcoe Secondary School in St. Catharines, represented our area.

There were about 450 teams competing in six divisions.
