Province expands online options at ServiceOntario locations

Digital options at ServiceOntario locations are expanding as the province of Ontario works to save residents time and money.
Additions in services include video health-card renewal appointments and applying for marriage licenses online.
Premier Doug Ford says the moves will save people time and money.
“We can’t be an offline government in an online world,” Ford said. “We’re putting customers first, taking steps to find solutions that provide convenient access to government information and services.”
The province says an enhanced booking system is now running at 64 of the busiest ServiceOntario locations.

Ontarians complete more than 59 million transactions at ServiceOntario annually, with 53 per cent of transactions being completed online.
The booking system lets people book a single appointment for multiple services or multiple family members.
Public and Business Service Delivery Minister Kaleed Rasheed says new online services are being added regularly because every new customer online is one less person waiting in line.
Digital dealership registration will expand to include trade-in vehicles and used cars, and couples will also be able to apply for a marriage license online in the next few months through a secure portal in participating municipalities.
