Ontario education minister says parents should be informed if child changes pronouns at school

Ontario’s education minister Stephen Lecce is facing backlash after saying parents must be “fully involved” if their child chooses to use a different name or gender pronoun at school.
Opponents say this will cause some students to go back in the closet, or could also embolden people to express more homophobic and transphobic views.
